Today, four years ago, I drove back from Tuscany to the Netherlands.

Home, work, friends. My life.

I’m reading my travel diary from that trip. For the return journey, I had booked a room in a little castle. “I have to go there, something special is about to happen,” I read.

On the way, I took the exit to Luxembourg. The castle enchanted me. I felt as if I’d stepped back into the turbulent 1920s—the golden age of travel, when the world was opening up to exploration and celebration of life.

The Roaring Twenties marked the start of modern travel. No longer just for businessmen or explorers, but for anyone seeking adventure and new experiences.

And wow—here I am, right in the middle of the roaring twenties of this century. Adventure in its purest form. New experiences? Hell yes.

In just 28 minutes, I decided to leave my home country. To let go of everything and everyone. To begin my next journey with an open heart—and with only a handful of English phrases I couldn’t even spell correctly packed in my moving box.

Is it easy? No, absolutely not.

Is it fun? Not always.

Is it hard work? That’s an understatement.

What started as a small adventure at Château de Clémency soon grew into a serious business—now with six locations and a seventh on the way. And I’ve done it all myself. Hospitality is a 24/7 job, with all the challenges that come with it. I could write a book about everything that’s happened. One day, when I find the time, I will.

And speaking of adventures…

Finding my way in another country. What a beautiful country.

Building a new social network. Such kind people.

Practicing French, German, and English—still practicing, always practicing.

Two ambulance rides.

Four surgeries.

Five hospital stays. Incredible healthcare.

But the show must go on…

Today, we can welcome 44 guests at a time. And not in a standard room with just a bed and a shower, but in a place where you sleep in an experience. With Pascal as the artist behind these little gems.

Am I proud? Yes!

Am I grateful? Yes!

Would I do it all again? Yes!

Hospitality is what makes my heart beat faster. For you, dear traveler. To make you feel at home and cared for. Now with a wonderful team beside me, so I don’t have to do it all alone anymore—and so there’s space for me to travel again too.

Shall we keep creating adventures together?

Luxembourg has embraced me. And I have embraced Luxembourg.
